Project Description
Matt Jones describes himself as a creative strategist, an accidental entrepreneur and a serial failure. He has an eclectic background, combining economics, politics, brand experience and (since 2013) gin.
In 2013, Matt, Stu and Cam co-founded Four Pillars Gin, a craft gin business based in Healesville in the Yarra Valley. While Cam makes great gin and Stu makes lots of noise, Matt’s role at Four Pillars has been to make sense of it all. Officially his title is Co-Founder & Brand Director. When he’s not hanging out at Four Pillars Distillery, he’s one of Australia’s most in-demand speakers, thinkers and now authors on business, brand, strategy and creativity.
Previously, Matt served as Chief Political Adviser to the UK Conservative Party from 2001 to 2005, becoming the party’s youngest person to hold that role. Shifting to brand experience in 2006, Matt became Jack Morton Worldwide’s first Chief Creative and Strategy Officer in Sydney and later New York City. Between 2006 and 2012, Matt played a key role in the emerging world of brand experience, advising global brands like IBM, Microsoft, Qantas, Sony, Samsung, and Volkswagen. In 2012, he founded a consultancy focusing on creative strategy, storytelling, and experience design for corporate, craft, start-up, and social businesses.
